Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu or in English it is titled “Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World” is an isekai genre anime series with elements of adventure and dark fantasy. This anime series tells the story of Subaru Natsuki, who realized that he was now in another world when he was on his way home. As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, this anime is based on a light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichirō tsuka. The novel itself was published by Media Factory, the light novel series which has been published since January 24, 2014 has 30 volumes that have been published to date.

The last volume was released to readers on June 24, 2022. In the two seasons that have aired, the first 15 volumes of the light novels have been adapted into anime. The remaining 15 volumes seem to be enough to see a new season. The light novel stock material will not cause any problems in adapting the story for the third season.

2. Disc Sales

Disc sales have lost a key factor due to increased digitization. Many people are no longer as interested in discs as they once were, but it is still an important parameter to see how popular an anime is in Japan.

In general, an anime is expected to sell an average of 4,000 units in order to be renewed for a new season. Re:Zero season 2 part 2 disc sales began on Sunday April 28, 2021, and 4 volumes have already been sold.

At the Animejapan 2023 event, Kadokawa said that the anime Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu will return with season 3. Two years after the end of the second season, this popular anime series will return with a new season, but there is no definite release date yet.

A new trailer and visual for the next season has also been released, giving fans a glimpse. But some details, such as staff and actors, have yet to be finalized. After Re Zero season 2 ended in March 2021, it took almost two years to announce a third season.
