Before he died, it was discovered that Muhammad Fajri had been treated at the RSCM in a serious condition.

For information, Muhammad Fajri is a 26-year-old 300 kg obese man from Tangerang City.

Main Director of RSCM Lies Dina Liastuti confirmed the news that Fajri had died on Thursday (22/6) in the morning at 01.25 WIB at RSCM.

The figure of an obese man from Tangerang, Muhammad Fajri (26) went viral because he was obese and weighed up to 300 kg.

Before Muhammad Fajri went viral because of obesity, there was also Arya Permana, a boy in Karawang who was also a concern because of the excessive accumulation of fat in the body.

Even though they were both obese, Muhammad Fajri’s condition was said to be worse than Arya Permana.

Both Muhammad Fajri and Arya Permana were also referred to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

Initially, Muhammad Fajri from the Tangerang Hospital was referred to the RSCM, last Friday (9/6/2023).

“This condition is more severe (from Arya Permana) because it comes with shortness of breath and more complications,” said Acting Main Director of RSCM, Dr. Lies Dina Liastuti.

When he was taken to the RSCM, Fajri’s condition was indeed quite severe. Especially in the respiratory area and wounds all over Muhammad Fajri’s body due to limited space for movement due to too much weight.

“The heart is working very hard, the lungs are working very hard especially since he never moves.

So the conditions at home or the humid environmental conditions cause problems in the lungs, as well as the skin so that the skin has many wounds, then the wound becomes infected, the lungs become congested because there is an infection and so on,” said Lies.

Lies said that currently his party is still carrying out intensive examinations of Muhammmad Fajri’s health condition.

Another difficulty was also experienced, namely the difficulty of the syringe to penetrate Fajri’s thick skin due to obesity.

Lies said that his party even bought a special tool that was not available at the RSCM to inject fluids into Fajri’s body.

“Because it penetrates the muscles that are so thick to look for the blood vessels,” he said. It is known that Muhammad Fajri never moved after having an accident eight years ago.

Thus, the intake of food that enters Fajri’s body is only converted into fat. “Due to accidents and more lying down, of course expenses will be much reduced.

As a result (intake) there is more and it is stored as body fat which has an impact on other organs,” said the RSCM doctor team, Dicky L.

On a similar occasion, the nutritionist who is also the team treating Muhammad Fajri, Nurul, said that the patient’s condition was rare.

Nurul revealed that Muhammad Fajri was in a difficult condition to maintain his hunger and fullness.

“Actually, humans have a response to keep their feelings of fullness and hunger in balance,” he said.

“But it seems because this patient is also not mobile, many don’t move because of their condition.

So that more and more fat deposits or fat deposits accumulate in the body,” said Nurul.

According to Herman (58), Fajri’s neighbor, the man who is obese is a kind person.

Herman who is called by Father Baim by Fajri everyday often helps. Muhammad Fajri lives right to the left of Baim’s house.

“If he asked for help, he would call me,” said Herman. Some of the assistance that Herman routinely gives to Fajri is for matters of buying electricity tokens, gallons of water to withdrawing money at an ATM.

“He sometimes likes to give money to his siblings, so he asks for help taking it to an ATM, sometimes he asks my child for help too,” said Herman.

As a neighbour, Herman really cares about Muhammad Fajri’s life. Because, at home, Fajri only lives alone with his mother who is also experiencing health problems.

Meanwhile, Fajri’s father had passed away. Muhammad Fajri actually has an older brother but doesn’t live in the same house because he is already married.

Prior to his illness, Muhammad Fajri worked as the breadwinner for the family as a vehicle registration bureau operator.

“His mother is also sorry for being helpless. If you walk, it’s really difficult, it’s really old, but it’s really sick too,” said Herman.
