This Sunday at 2pm check out “Creating a Culture of Peace”, a dynamic, experiential workshop that provides the tools for a more restorative approach to activism and life. The facilitator is Scott Brown, author of “Active Peace: A Mindful Path to a Nonviolent World.”
Too often worship centers are empty 6 days a week. We want to be a community 24/7 at Garfield Park Community Church and use our space during the week for non-profits and community programs. By changing out our pews for chairs and tables we can be more flexible for groups that want to use the space for yoga, martial arts, concerts, and banquets. We can also change our worship service to include small-group discussions. We also want to upgrade to a video recording system so that we can have TED-style presentations and broadcast our weekly sermons. The world is changing and we have to evolve with it!
Our goal is to raise $12,000. You can write a check or donate online with a credit card or PayPal. Thank you in advance! Also check out our GoFundMe page!
First time visitors
If Sunday was your first time with us, we especially want to say thank you for coming and we look forward to seeing you again! We want to talk with you more and hear any questions or concerns (or praise) you have. Send Christopher an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (831) 426-0510.
This week at GPCC, join us for a discussion about prayer. What is it in context? How did the early church view prayer? What is the point of prayer and meditation in other faiths? As progressive liberals, is prayer important?
See you Sunday,
Christy and the GPCC Staff
